Southwestern Michigan College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Commission may be found at 30 North LaSalle Street, Suite 2400, Chicago, Illinois 60602-2504. They may be reached by telephone at (800) 621-7440.

Southwestern Michigan College is also a member of the American Association of Community Colleges.

Colleges and universities periodically engage in a process of self study and external review in order to renew their accreditation status. Southwestern Michigan College is preparing for our next regular accreditation review.

The process involves conducting a self study, in preparation for a site visit by a team from The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools in November of 2010. Please follow the Related Link on the left to read our self study report.
