Maps and Directions
Southwestern Michigan College has two campuses - one in Dowagiac and the other in Niles, Michigan. Our wooded, 240-acre Dowagiac Campus features an art gallery, wireless internet, a Student Activity Center complete with a fitness center, gym and gameroom, fully networked library, museum, and drop-in computer labs. Hiking trails criss-cross the campus.
The Niles Area Campus offers day, evening, and weekend classes. The Niles Area Campus also offers academic support services ranging from financial aid advising to drop-in tutoring at the Teaching and Learning Center. The Michigan Technical Education Center (MTECSM @ SMC) is also located at our Niles Area Campus.

From the West (Chicago, Illinois):
- Take I-94 East to US 12 (near New Buffalo, Michigan)
- Continue on US 12 for approximately 30 miles until it turns into M-60
- Continue on M-60 for approximately 10 miles to Dailey Road
- Turn left on Dailey Road
- Take Dailey Road for 6.5 miles
- Main campus is on the right

From the West (Chicago, Illinois):
- Take I-94 East to US 12 (near New Buffalo, Michigan)
- Continue on US 12 for approximately 30 miles to the Sturgis exit
- Follow the signs to the Niles Area Campus

From the East (Detroit, Michigan):
- Take I-94 West to the Decatur/Dowagiac exit (#56/M-51 South)
- Continue on M-51 South through Decatur to Dowagiac for approximately 20 miles
- At the center of town, turn left at the stoplight on M-62 towards Cassopolis
- Take M-62 for 2 miles to Cherry Grove Road
- Turn right on Cherry Grove Road--campus is on the right

From the East (Detroit, Michigan):
- Take I-94 West to 131 at Kalamazoo
- Take 131 South to Three Rivers
- Take a right onto M-60
- Take M-60 to the Sturgis exit
- Follow the signs to the Niles Area Campus
