It is not meant to replace contact with faculty and staff who are happy to meet with you to discuss academic and career possibilities, course selections, academic concerns and to answer questions.
SMC provides access to older catalogs and course descriptions, which are primarily used by administrators at other institutions to evaluate the transcripts of our students. You can find these older catalogs and course descriptions by following the Related Link on the left, Catalog/Course Archive. The course descriptions listed represent courses that may be offered or have been offered in the past at Southwestern Michigan College.
Our online catalog is organized into the following main topics:

Course Descriptions
The Course Descriptions area of this Web site lists our courses, with descriptions of each and is organized first by term and then alphabetically by subject. You may either filter for a particular subject or highligh all subjects. We've even indicated the semesters these courses are offered to get you started planning your education, life and work schedules.
Transfer Options
Many students attend Southwestern Michigan College to obtain the first two years of a Baccalaureate degree, prior to attending a four-year college or university. SMC has worked with these colleges and universities to develop dozens of transfer guides to help our students select the courses equivalent to the first two years of the same program at the four-year schools. Your advisor can assist you in the use of these transfer guides and in assuring a smooth transition to the college or university of your choice. Southwestern Michigan College can offer coursework that will transfer into literally hundreds of academic majors at as many schools.
