Scholarships
The Financial Aid Office at Southwestern Michigan College can assist you with questions concerning grants and scholarships. EXCEL students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year to be eligible for scholarship opportunities.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:
- Making good academic progress – this is based on your Counselor’s recommendation and the Committee’s final decision.
- Pell grant eligible and have unmet need as defined by the financial aid office.
- Enrolled in at least six credits in Winter semester or three credits in Spring.
- Participated in at least one EXCEL activity or two Stretch Beyond workshops in either Fall or Winter semesters of this academic year.
- Completed the FAFSA for the upcoming academic year. Financial Aid workshops are available in February.
- Students must display good character and be a positive role model for the program.
- Contact your EXCEL Counselor at least twice a semester.
- Meet standards for Academic Good Standing.
