Fine and Performing Arts Overview
Welcome to the Fine and Performing Arts Department at Southwestern Michigan College. Discover all of what the department has to offer in fine and performing arts programs. Opportunities abound for student to showcase their talents and community members to enjoy collegiate level performances and works of art.
Students can explore their performing side through band, choir, theatre, and dance; or realize their artist yearnings through SMC’s fine arts, ceramics, photography and graphic design programs. SMC’s Theatre and Art Gallery in the Dale A. Lyons Building on the Dowagiac campus provide perfect venues for student works, as well as faculty exhibits.
All of this is provided by our complete and varied curricula, generous scholarship offerings, as well as our art gallery shows, band and choir concerts, theatrical productions and concerts of dance.
