As director and instructor of the Graphic Design Technology program at Southwestern Michigan College, I welcome you to the Web site. Our program offers high quality career training in the field of Graphic Design Technology.

A Graphic Design career can be an interesting and rewarding career. Graphic Design requires a combination of skills in creative visual communications, computer skills and business/customer services. While the demand for print-based design remains steady, there is an increasing demand for designers because of the expanding market for Web-based information and expansion of the video/digital entertainment market.

The SMC Graphic Design program offers 2 degree options: An Associate in Arts degree for those who would like to transfer to a four year school after two years at SMC or an Associate in Applied Science degree for those who would like more specialized training for direct entry into the work force. For information about these degree options, please follow the links to the appropriate Associate Degrees provided on this page..

At this site, you will find information on the degrees offered and information on the faculty that teach within the Graphic Design Technology program. I welcome questions regarding our program.
