Winter 2010 Musical Guys and Dolls

The Southwestern Michigan College Fine and Performing Arts Department hosts several productions during the Fall and Winter semester which include a fall play, winter musical, holiday concert for the community and band, choral and dance concerts. The events are presented in theatre located in the Dale A. Lyons Building at the Dowagiac campus.

For SMC Productions: Ticket prices are general admission $7; $5 for students and senior citizens; and free for those 18 and under. Individual tickets go on sale three weeks prior to the event. Tickets can be purchased from the Box Office at (800) 456-8675, ext. 1280. All performances are in the theatre of the Dale A. Lyons Building on the Dowagiac campus. Art Schedule

Throughout the academic year, SMC displays work from area artists as well as students and faculty in its Art Gallery. Follow the Art Gallery Exhibits link on the left to find a schedule of the current art exhibits in the Art Galley located in the Dale A. Lyons Building, Room 108 at the Dowagiac campus.

Fall Play
"Charley's Aunt"

A comedic masterpiece of love, mistaken identity, and men in skirts! Two gents invite their girlfriends to Oxford…properly chaperoned, of course. The chaperoned is delayed and what follows becomes a series of misunderstandings, which spiral out of control.
 

Fall Band Concert

Friday, November 4, 7:30 p.m.
Join us for an evening of instrumental favorites featuring the SMC Symphonic Band, Brass Band, and Jazz Ensemble.
 

Fall Choral Concert

Friday, November 11, 7:30 p.m.
Presenting a variety of classical, pop, jazz and folk choral music, the harmonious sounds of SMC Select Voices, Men’s Ensemble, Concert Choir and Evening Chorale will fill the theatre.
 

Fall Concert of Dance

Friday, December 2, 1:00 p.m. and
Saturday, December 3, 7:30 p.m.
An innovative tapestry of dance will be presented by the Southwestern Dance Ensemble students and invited guest artists. Celebrate the dance with us!
 

Holiday Concerts
