Visual Arts - Photography
The photography area offers a fully functional darkroom as well as strobe and studio lighting equipment. Traditional black and white film development, enlarger printing and the computer are but a few of the tools used. Students can explore a wide range of photographic experiences with film based 35mm, medium format and view cameras, also, Polaroid and digital cameras as well as a variety of alternative processes.
Beginning photography students are offered exhibition opportunities each semester at the Student Art Exhibition and the Annual Sophomore Scholarship Exhibit. Advanced students are taught and encouraged to have a one-person show of each semesters' body of work.
All photography classes cover technical competence, professional craftsmanship compositional creativity, conceptual development and the art of presentation.
