Private Scholarships

Many Southwestern Michigan College students receive scholarships from individuals, groups, and organizations outside the college that support education. Some of these scholarships are for students graduating from high school in the current year who apply for them through their high school guidance office. Funds from these outside scholarships are applied to student accounts when the check is received.

In addition, SMC’s Financial Aid office regularly receives notification of private scholarship opportunities offered by foundations, businesses, organizations, and individuals. These scholarships have their own application process, requirements, and deadlines. Links to these private scholarships are added on a regular basis and it is recommended that students watch this area of our website for updates.

Remember to check each scholarship for deadlines.
