Resident Assistant: Ashley Eldred-Barker
Hello everyone, my name is Ashley Eldred-Barker and I am currently a sophomore at Southwestern Michigan College. My major is Pre-Nursing and my academic goal is to graduate from Southwestern Michigan College as a Registered Nurse. Once graduated from Southwestern Michigan College, I plan to transfer to a four-year university to obtain a Master’s Degree in Family Science, to become a Nurse Practitioner.
I am currently a member of Phi Theta Kappa and a personal achievement of mine is that I have recently become a Certified Phlebotomist Technician. My hobbies include volunteering, swimming, fishing, camping, running, and meeting new people. My favorite movie is Mean Girls and I love listening to Lady Gaga. A random fact about me is that I absolutely love eating ice cream for breakfast. Once again, my name is Ashley Eldred-Barker and I look forward to being a Resident Advisor in the new housing facilities located on campus.
Resident Assistant: Josh Ritchie
Hello, my name is Delbert ‘Josh’ Ritchie and I am a first-year student at Southwestern Michigan College. My major is engineering and I am planning to transfer to Ferris State University for their Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Electronics Engineering Technology program.
I currently play trombone in both jazz and symphonic band here at SMC. Other than hanging out with friends, I like playing video games, listening to music, and playing football or hockey. I am a huge Green Bay Packers, and Detroit Red Wings fan. A random fact about me is that I can play the trombone with my feet. I look forward to getting to know you while I am at SMC.
Resident Assistant: Jessica Winner
Hello my name is Jessica Winner! This will be my second year at SMC and my major is Dance Education with a minor in business. I have been dancing for 15 years and would love to own my own dance studio someday! Currently I have been helping out with my church’s middle school youth group on Thursday nights, I am also involved in the college Bible study at my church and I am a part of the dance club at SMC!
Some of my hobbies include: hanging out with friends, watching movies, reading, sleeping, and shopping! I also enjoy water tubing and snow skiing but I don’t get to do them very often. I tried to decide who my absolute favorite band was but I couldn’t, so it’s a toss-up between David Crowder and Rascal Flatts! Now choosing my favorite move was easier, I absolutely love, and I mean love, the Ice Age movies!!!!!
After this next year at SMC I plan to transfer to Hope College where I will attain my bachelor’s in dance education with my minor in business! I have been told on countless occasions that I am a very unique person but one of the stranger things about me is that I can cross only one eye and when I do, I make kind of a funny face!
