Barbara Wood Building - Room 481
Room 481 is located on upper level of the Information Technology Center in the Barbara Wood Building at the Dowagiac Campus of Southwestern Michigan College.
This is a PC instructional lab dedicated to teaching computer repair. The computers in this lab are specialized to enhance hands on learning in partnership with Heathkit Educational Systems.
Students can completely disassemble and reassemble the computers and use hardware and software designed specifically for the classes offered in this computer lab. Instructors have the ability to insert both hardware and software faults to facilitate student learning of troubleshooting skills. Open lab hours are restricted to students only.

| The software installed on the units in this lab is done by students in conjunction with their coursework and varies by course. Student use the PC Fundamentals (EZS-900) Heathkit Educational Systems will gain the knowledge to reconfigure the operating system and the computer hardware. The student also learn general troubleshooting knowledge relating to common computer problems, learn how to identify the source of the problem and make the necessary corrections. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
