Round Oak Collection
The Museum at Southwestern Michigan College has the nation’s largest collection of Round Oak Stove Company artifacts. The company, founded by Philo D. Beckwith in 1871, was the most important firm in Dowagiac history and led to the city’s growth in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The Round Oak Stove Company directed many of the town’s social activities and put the community on the map as the largest stove manufacturer in the world.
