Growing Up Pioneer
Students attending this tour will learn about the hard work and plain fun of frontier life. They will be introduced to various domestic arts including the milling of corn and the making of butter. Students will also have a chance to make a wooden toy, a fun lesson in the use of natural resources by pioneers. The grand finale of this program for students in grades second through fifth is a frontier dance.
Below are post-classroom activities teachers can do with their students.
