SMC Precision Production Technology Faculty

David Maxwell has been the Precision Production Technology instructor at Southwestern Michigan College since 2006. He has 26 years experience in the machine tool field, as well as four years as a high school instructor in machine tool and welding. Maxwell is certified by the National Institute of Metalworking Standards in measurement, materials, and safety I.
“Teaching here has given me the opportunity to go deeper into studying the technologies that are driving the industry I serve, and then sharing this with students,” said Maxwell, who has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fort Wayne Bible College and a Master of Divinity from Grace Theological Seminary. For enjoyment, Maxwell ‘plays’ with computers and has built several. He continues to study classical languages, which was his minor while in college. “Cicero is one of my favorite reads,” Maxwell added. He also has won 102 games in a row in Free Cell – three times! “I seem to choke on the 103rd game like the Cubs choke at getting into the World Series,” Maxwell said. “No one knows why.” |
