Graduation and Diplomas

Students who plan to receive an Associate Degree or a One-Year Certificate from Southwestern Michigan College must do the following:

• Make an appointment with the Academic Support Office prior to the semester in which you plan to complete your requirements.
• Complete your application for graduation when meeting with an Academic Support Advisor and have a pre-graduation audit completed and submitted by the graduation application deadline.

Commencement Ceremony

Southwestern Michigan College holds a commencement ceremony (April or May) each academic year to honor Fall, Winter and Spring graduates. Contact the Records and Registration Office for further details.

Diplomas

Diplomas for those students who successfully complete all the requirements for their degree/certificate will be mailed by certified mail approximately six weeks after the final audit of their academic record is completed by the Director of Records/Registrar.
