Teaching and Learning Center Policies

The Teaching and Learning Centers of SMC are dedicated to creating an environment where students, staff, faculty and community members may seek support to help achieve success in both their academic and personal lives.

Therefore, the following policies are in place:

• Teaching and Learning Center services are free to students, faculty and staff with the exception of printing
• Users are required to sign in when they first come into, and sign out when they leave the Teaching and Learning Centers
• All use of Southwestern Michigan College computer equipment is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy
• No smoking in the Teaching and Learning Centers at any time
• Appropriate language is expected
• Users will treat each other with empathy and respect. Disruptive behavior is not allowed
• Children under 18 may not use any equipment in the TLC and may not be in the TLC without parent or guardian supervision. (The only exception is an Academy or dual-enrolled student)
