Program Overview

The Associate in Applied Science in Accounting will lay the groundwork for further education in Accounting or for other entry-level work in accounting or finance.

Accounting is an information system that provides reports about the economic activities and conditions of a business. The AAS degree prepares students with sufficient skills and knowledge to meet entrance requirements of most business organizations.

To become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), you must meet an education requirement of 150 semester hours of college education, a work experience requirement, and pass the CPA exam.

Credits transfer easily into any of the Ferris @ SMC business bachelor’s programs. Plus with the Ferris @ SMC program you can take three years of classes at SMC’s low tuition and only one year at Ferris’ tuition.
