The associate degree in accounting can serve as the first two years of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, or it can be used to gain entry-level employment in a related field.

Students can earn a bachelor’s degree in accountancy on SMC’s Dowagiac campus through our university partner, Ferris State University.

About the Accounting Degree

Accounting is an information system that provides reports about the economic activities and conditions of a business.

The Associate in Applied Science in Accounting will lay the groundwork for further education in accounting or for entry-level work in accounting or finance.

The AAS degree prepares students with sufficient skills and knowledge to meet entrance requirements of most business organizations.

To become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), you must meet an education requirement of 150 semester hours of college education, a work experience requirement and pass the CPA exam.

Credits transfer easily into any of the Ferris at SMC business bachelor’s programs.

Earn a bachelor’s degree in accountancy on our Dowagiac campus through our partnership with Ferris State University.
