Course Description

Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in ENGL 115 or satisfactory test score, concurrent enrollment allowed. The Emergency Medical Technician is an entry level course into the delivery of pre-hospital emergency medical care. This program provides both written and practical instruction emphasizing the knowledge and skills utilized by the EMT as a health care professional. Upon successful completion of both the written and practical components of HEED 131 & 132, students are eligible to take the Michigan Department of Public Health, Division of Emergency Medical Services, and Licensure Examination for Emergency Medical Technicians.
