“This is a new approach to showing faculty work,” Dombrosky said. “Most schools canvass the entire faculty and bring in a mishmash of one work from each person, which hollows out the experience and doesn’t allow us to draw deeper connections.”
SMC hosts Agriculture Careers Day
The number of farmers has gone down drastically. About 1.7 percent are directly involved in farming, compared to 90 percent in the 1800s. At the same time, one of every 12 U.S. jobs relates to farming. That’s 22 million positions. There are more than 50,000 jobs available every year.

SMC alumna ‘likes being able to help’
Though Hosbein graduated from Watervliet High School, growing up she attended Sister Lakes Elementary School and the new Dowagiac Middle School. She lived on Big Crooked Lake, learned to ride a unicycle and was an outdoors-loving “kid with endless energy.”
