About Choral Camp

Choral Camp is a one-week intensive residential camp designed to encourage the advanced study of choral and vocal music.

Students will refine their vocal skills with challenging instruction from advanced musical professionals. Students will also engage in special interest sessions such as selective chamber ensembles, private voice instruction, vocal pedagogy, sight reading strategies and music theory.

After a day full of quality choral instruction and practice, students will enjoy organized group activities, free time or the use of SMC's Student Activity Center. Students will stay in our apartment-style residence halls under the supervision of our professional housing staff.

The camp will culminate with a public performance by camp participants on July 27.

Choral Camp is part of SMC's Summer Institute, a series of camps designed to help high school students refine their skills and explore career interests.

NOTE: Students will need to audition or have a recommendation from their high school choir director or private voice instructor to attend. Students will be contacted to set up an audition after completing the application. Upon acceptance, the $350 registration fee will be due by July 13.
