Save the Date: Ribbon-Cutting for New SMC Wrestling Facility
Published on March 3, 2026 - 2 p.m.
Southwestern Michigan College is proud to announce a Save the Date for the official ribbon-cutting of its new wrestling facility, a transformative addition that strengthens the college’s commitment to athletics, student success and community pride.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on April 8 at 10 a.m. at the college’s Dowagiac campus in the Charles O. Zollar building.
Students, alumni, donors, community members and regional partners are invited to attend and celebrate this exciting milestone.
The new wrestling facility represents a significant investment in student-athletes and the continued growth of SMC’s nationally-competitive wrestling program.
Designed to provide enhanced training space, improved amenities and a championship-caliber environment, the facility reflects the college’s broader commitment to excellence in academics, arts and athletics.
“This facility is about more than wrestling,” said SMC Interim President Brent Brewer. “It’s about creating opportunities for our students to compete at a high level, earn an education and be part of something special. We are incredibly grateful to the supporters who helped make this vision a reality.”
Additional event details, including program information and guest speakers, will be announced soon.
