About the Training

Attend this full-day seminar to learn about employee safety and health training, accident investigation, hazard recognition and self-inspection techniques.

Supervisors will learn tips on methods to integrate health and safety into their daily duties and responsibilities. Using MIOSHA General Industry and Construction standards and required written programs as a baseline, supervisors are given suggestions to improve their safety and health hazard recognition skills.

This course has been approved for both residential builders and pre-licensure and continuing safety training requirements.

Presented by MIOSHA and co-sponsored by Southwestern Michigan College.

This seminar is a must for anyone concerned about health and safety on the job including:

  • Managers concerned about workers’ compensation costs.
  • Employees who want to learn proper techniques for protecting their safety and health at work.
  • Business owners who want to learn about compliance with Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA).

MIOSHA Training Institute Scholarship Program

MIOSHA Training Institute Scholarships cover 50% of the regular course fee. Interested individuals should complete the MIOSHA Training Institute (MTI) Scholarship Application online. You must also select a course that is more than three weeks away from the start date of a selected course, but not more than three months away from the start date. After notification of scholarship approval from the MIOSHA Consultation Education and Training (CET) Division, applicants must register for this course within five business days. Applicants must receive approval of their scholarship before registering for this course. If applicant fails to register within five days, the approval for the scholarship will be rescinded and applicant will need to reapply.

Course Cancellation Due to Low Enrollment: SMC reserves the right to cancel this course because of low enrollment. A 100% refund will be made to enrollees of all the fees attributable to the cancelled class.

Deadline to Drop: Any cancellations by enrollees made prior to July 22, 2021 at 5 p.m. will result in a full refund of monies paid. No refund will be given for cancellations received after the deadline to drop stated above.
