Meet the Resident Assistants
Hi! My name is Alyssa, or you can call me Aly! I currently live in the small town of Eau Claire, Michigan but was born and raised in Baroda, Michigan. I graduated from Lakeshore High School and then decided to attend Southwestern Michigan College to receive my associate degree and continue on through the Ferris program. Currently, I am going to be a junior in college and just received my associate degree in elementary education. I am now working towards my bachelor’s degree in elementary education and double minoring in mathematics and English through Ferris. Meanwhile, when I don’t have my faced stuffed in textbooks, I enjoy riding four wheelers, hiking, art, traveling, movies, and hanging out with friends and family.
As an RA, I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and creating new friendships and bonds between the residents as well as the other RA’s. I am extremely excited to be an RA this year, and I look forward to helping students have a great college experience and have fun while doing so!
My name is Cameron Victor, and I am from Coldwater, MI. I am currently enrolled in the MSU agricultural technology program to study agribusiness. With this degree I plan to one day start a career in crop insurance or deal in ag-based financing. If you can't find me on campus, usually I'm working on a project in the greenhouse or traveling the state with Collegiate Farm Bureau. As a RA, I look forward to seeing everyone grow and get closer to their dreams.
Hi everyone, my name is Harleigh Besaw, and I graduated from Edwardsburg High School (the one with the really good football team). This is my second year at SMC, and I recently decided on a communications major; I still don’t know what I’m going to be, but that’s okay! After I graduate, I plan to transfer to somewhere in Colorado.
I love to keep myself busy with work, school, friends and working out. Some fun facts about me are: I don’t have a favorite animal or color or song because I like all of them. I do love English, and I’m terrible at math. I’ve been told I’m very easy to talk to, so don’t be shy this year!
Hey everyone! My name is Jarod Siguenza, and I am from Edwardsburg, Michigan. I am currently majoring in mathematics so I can become a high school teacher. At the moment, I am planning on transferring to Western to pursue my bachelor’s. I am looking forward to being an RA for this school year! I hope to build great friendships with you all!

I love watching medical dramas, and I love all types of music. My hobbies include hanging out with my friends, going out to eat, painting, and binge-watching Netflix when I can. I also work in White Hall’s front desk so if you see me don’t be scared to say hi. I love meeting new people and am an ally for anyone who needs me. I’m really excited to start off the fall semester with new faces!
Hi, my name is Tamia, but please call me Mia. I am from Benton Harbor, Michigan and a 2019 graduate from Benton Harbor High School. I am currently studying communications in hope of creating my own career label and path. I enjoy rapping, dancing, painting, traveling, and hanging out with friends.
Being an RA will equip me with better communication skills and allow me to put my current communication skills to the test. I look forward to building more and new memories with everyone. Can't wait to meet and get to know you all!
My name is Morgan Hoard; I am from Coldwater, Michigan but graduated from Bronson High School. This is my second year at SMC. I am very excited to be an RA and am looking forward to getting to know the new and returning residents. My goal is to help the residents have the best year possible and to be a friend that they can confide in. College is where a lot of people find their voice and figure out the person they want to be. I am excited to have the opportunity to help residents find themselves and to have a positive impact in their lives and on the campus. I can’t wait to get residents involved on campus and to have an amazing year with you all!
