Course Description

Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in ENGL 115, ENGL 103W, ENGL 103, or ENGL 104, or satisfactory test scores placing into ENGL 103W or higher. Concurrent enrollment in ENGL 115 allowed. The study of Constitutional law as it pertains to the functions, operations, and responsibilities of people involved in the field of corrections, including probation and parole. Course covers the court process in the American legal system, prisoners’ rights, and tort law as it pertains to corrections, and an examination of pertinent case law. The decision-making process within the field of corrections and the legal system is also examined. This course meets the M.C.O.T.C. certification requirements. [Semesters Offered: Variable]
