Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in ENGL 103 or ENGL 103W. An exploration of American cinema from the silent film era to the present. A selection of classic films are viewed in class and then discussed in terms of content and cinematic technique. The course explores how the films viewed reflect themes in American culture.
